Terms of Service

Marabou is operated by Lenoir Group LLC ("Marabou", "we", "us", "our"). Last updated: 26 September 2026.

These Terms are the agreement between you and Lenoir Group LLC for the Marabou app and website (the "Service"). By creating an account you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use Marabou.

Please read sections 13 and 14. They limit our liability and, for members in the United States, require most disputes to be resolved by individual arbitration rather than in court, and waive class actions. You can opt out of arbitration within 30 days — section 14 explains how.

1. Eligibility

2. Your account

Keep your sign-in credentials secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. Give accurate information — your real age, your own photos, and a genuine description of yourself. Impersonating anyone, real or invented, is a breach of these Terms.

3. Conduct

You agree not to:

Our Community Guidelines are part of these Terms and describe this in practical detail.

4. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you post. To operate the Service we need permission to use it, so you grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, display, adapt for formatting, and distribute your content solely to provide and support the Service. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies retained for safety or legal reasons as described in the Privacy Policy.

In plain terms: we can show your profile and posts inside Marabou because that is what you asked us to do. We will not sell your photos or put you in an advertisement.

You confirm you own or have the rights to what you post, and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.

5. Moderation and enforcement

Marabou screens posts and comments automatically for hate speech, harassment, discrimination and sexual content, screens every photo automatically for explicit or violent content before and after upload, and reviews what members report. We may remove content, limit an account, or end it.

When you report a member, or are reported, an authorised Marabou administrator may review the conversation between the two of you to investigate. Messages sent on Marabou are not end-to-end encrypted. See Safety review of reported conversations in our Privacy Policy.

Photos. Photos that look explicit or violent are refused. Each refused explicit photo is a strike and you see a warning every time. Five strikes close your account for good, and the email on it cannot be used for a new account.

Repeated breaches follow a published ladder:

StageConsequence
Early breachesThe post is blocked and you receive a warning naming what was wrong
Continued breachesSuspension of one week
ThenOne month, then six months, then one year
FinallyPermanent removal. A copy of your data can be requested from support

6. Subscriptions and credits

VIP Plus

Marabou Credits

Digital gifts

Gifts are decorative items delivered inside a chat. They have no cash value and cannot be redeemed. Sending a gift to someone you have not matched with also registers a like, and uses one of your daily likes.

7. Refunds

Purchases are made through Google Play and the App Store, and their refund policies apply — we cannot process a refund for a store purchase directly. Request one through Google Play or Apple Support.

8. Advertising

The free plan is supported by adverts. Rewarded videos are always optional: no feature of Marabou requires you to watch one, and declining costs you nothing but time. VIP Plus removes advertising. Advertisers are not our partners and we do not endorse them.

9. Safety and your own judgement

We do not conduct criminal background checks on members. Screening, moderation and reporting reduce risk; they cannot eliminate it. You are responsible for your own interactions and for taking sensible precautions. Read our Dating Safety Tips before you meet anyone.

If someone makes you feel unsafe, block and report them in the app. If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services first.

10. Our intellectual property

The Marabou name, logo, design, software and content are owned by Lenoir Group LLC and protected by law. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for its intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell or lease any part of it.

11. Third-party services

Marabou uses Google Firebase, Google AdMob (and, if enabled, its mediation partner AppLovin), Meta (the Meta SDK for measurement, and Meta Audience Network if it is enabled as an ad partner), AppsFlyer for install attribution, Google Play Billing and the Apple App Store. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies; what each one receives is set out in section 6 of the Privacy Policy. We are not responsible for third-party content, and sharing a link does not mean we endorse it.

12. Ending the agreement

You may delete your account at any time from Profile → Account → Delete account. We may suspend or end your account if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if we discontinue the Service. Where it is reasonable and lawful to do so, we will tell you why.

Sections that by their nature should survive — content licence for retained copies, disclaimers, liability, disputes — survive termination.

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that you will find a match, that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any member is who they claim to be.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Lenoir Group LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) US$100.

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you, and your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

14. Disputes and arbitration

First, talk to us. Most problems are solved by email within a few days. Write to support@maraboudating.app and give us 30 days to resolve it before starting formal proceedings.

Members in the United States. If we cannot resolve it, you and Lenoir Group LLC agree that any dispute will be settled by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, and that neither of us may bring a class action or participate in one. You may still bring an individual claim in small claims court.

You can opt out. Email support@maraboudating.app with the subject "Arbitration opt-out" within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, including the email address on your account. Opting out costs you nothing and does not affect your account.

Members outside the United States. Nothing here removes your right to bring proceedings in the courts of the country where you live, or to rely on the mandatory consumer protection laws that apply there.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Connecticut, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where the mandatory law of your country of residence applies.
